This neck ring is based on a similar arm ring that was found in Gotland, Sweden.
Gotland was home to Visby, one of the largest and most important trading cities of the Viking Age (~793-1066).
Very elaborate, valuable pieces of jewelry were repeatedly found there, including neck rings (torcs) like this one.
The neck ring was made entirely by hand and weighs approximately 215 grams for a neck circumference of 40cm.
The maximum diameter of the neck ring is 1cm.
The use of fine silver for the thickest strands allows the size to be adjusted slightly by bending it, making it easy to put on and take off.
The dragon heads and the thinner twisted decorative wire are made of sterling silver. All details have been highlighted through a black patination of the silver.
Will be shipped in an elegant wooden box including certificate.
Please choose size (neck circumference) before purchasing!
